What we do?

Individual therapy is a working relationship between the therapist and the client that includes processing and educational components.  Holistically Yours serves both individuals and couples and offers two treatment modalities: counseling and coaching.

What to expect?

During the initial session the client will be assessed by the therapist and provided information about service options.  The therapist and client will work together to develop a plan tailored specifically for the client in order to address client’s presenting issues. Client will also receive a wellness package to support the therapeutic journey in the home and the community.

What is counseling?

Simply put, counseling examines the past in order to make connections with current beliefs, emotional concerns and unhealthy behavior patterns; working from past to present.  Counseling focuses on the “why.”  During this phase the therapist will work to increase client’s awareness and personal insight to presenting issues.  Together we will answer some of the questions you might ask yourself: “why do I feel like this?” “why does this keep happening?” “why do I do the things I do?” WHY???

What is coaching?

Coaching focuses on present to future; distinctively helping clients work on their desired goals for the future and creating a new life path.  During this phase the therapist will assist the client in developing realistic goals and steps to take in order to promote success in building the life you want!

Couples Counseling

Couple’s counseling is a working relationship between the therapist and the client (the client is the relationship) that focuses on adult relationships and attachment/bonding.

Trained in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples) your therapist will bring awareness to patterns in the relationship and work to restore trust, security and movement in a more positive direction.

EFT includes a three step process:

1) De-escalation

2) Restructure

3) Consolidation

During these phases the couple will identify negative relationship cycles and interactions, increase self awareness and communication of feelings, restore security, openness and positive response, and abilities to maintain healthy patterns in the future.
